Let's just call it like it is: this week has made me flat-out-BUTT-tired (shout out to Kaley who hates bathroom words!). BUT (pun, as always, intended) my style has been pretty much on-point the entire time. I owe this accomplishment to all of the women working beside me at ABC who look effortlessly fabulous every minute of every day. They have all set the bar incredibly high, and even though I have sweated profusely in each outfit this week, I feel like I was hanging in there with some of the best of them.
The weekend was a different story...
THE WORST
I am altogether proud and ashamed of the above picture. I am proud in that I have managed to give two distinct facial expressions in the same photo. I am ashamed of absolutely everything else. First off, this is my second appearance of the terry cloth shorts. These are so ill-fitting that if anyone were to loosen the drawstring, they would fall like bricks to my ankles in less than a second. I've also brought shame on both my alma mater and home state by wearing these shorts with a shirt which displays Baylor's logo as well as the shape of Texas. For this, I sincerely apologize. I am also sorry for the fact that I was clearly about to go walk in the rain (note the umbrella), but I have decided to wear flip flops. The act of walking through Brooklyn on a rainy day in flip flops is similar to the act of walking through every person's toilet on the planet...in flip flops.
Top all of that off with the fact that this was taken from my husband's point of view, so I look like an absolute hobbit (is this how he sees me?!).
But later on that day, I cleaned up my act, and Daniel and I decided to go for a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge.
THE BEST

Peek-a-boo! It's my back! You also can't see it because of my flowing mane, but there are three snap-buttons that match the studs on the front that keep the top of the garment together. It's a nice little detail.
The belt is seriously a part of almost every outfit I wear. If my wardrobe were iTunes, this belt would be #1 on my Top 25 Most Played (incidentally, #1 on my iTunes is "Speak" by Nickel Creek). I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Should I be mixing it up more?
Also, isn't New York beautiful?
Anyway, that was my week in style. How was your week in this arena? We'd love for you to tweet us your best (or even worst) outfits (@christyoshoney and @ukulelekaley). You may even be featured right here on Can I Pull This Off? !
What?! Really?!
Yes. Really.

You've reached expert-level posing skills. Tyra would be so proud. And I need to up my game.
ReplyDeleteTaking the pictures is the worst part of this blog. I am so awkward.
DeleteAlso- I want to borrow that dress.
